Pathways to Opportunity — Board Game-Based Training on Educational Inequalities

(8-hour adult training program)

The aim of the training is to familiarize participants with the circumstances that lead to the educational challenges faced by disadvantaged students and to prepare them to support equitable education as responsible citizens. Participants also learn the rules of the board game, Pathways to Opportunity, which presents the school life paths of disadvantaged students. Through the game, participants deepen their understanding and become able to use it as a tool for social awareness-raising.

Reading Culture and Reading Comprehension Development

(30-hour adult training program, including 10 hours of individual work)

This training prepares participants to enhance the reading motivation and reading performance of children and youth aged 10–18. The theoretical component addresses the development and importance of reading, selected aspects of motivation, and their interconnections. Building on this foundation, participants explore and practice exercises and games that support reading development. Through collaborative work and shared reflection, the training provides the knowledge needed to conduct individual or small-group reading sessions and strengthen reading motivation. Participants also learn how to select appropriate texts and design related tasks for student development.

Social Integration and Equitable Education — Supporting Inclusive Education

(30-hour adult training program)

The training introduces participants to the circumstances that lead to the educational challenges of disadvantaged students and explores how they can contribute to equitable education. Participants learn about key characteristics of the Roma minority in Hungary, as well as common stereotypes and misconceptions. The training also presents major national programs and initiatives aimed at reducing disadvantage. As part of the program, participants engage with the Pathways to Opportunity board game, which illustrates the school life paths of disadvantaged students and can be used as a tool for social awareness-raising.

Board Game Pedagogy

(30-hour adult training program)

The aim of this training is to equip participants with a repertoire of games and confident skills in teaching rules and facilitating gameplay. Participants learn a pedagogically structured program and acquire the competencies needed for planning such activities. Experiencing and learning the games firsthand is essential for designing and leading board game-based educational sessions. By the end of the training, participants understand the positive educational impact of board games and can use them intentionally to achieve their pedagogical goals.

Addressing Educational Disadvantage in Community Programs

(16 órás, bejelentés alapján tartott felnőttképzés)

This training helps participants understand how responsible citizens can support community initiatives that assist disadvantaged students, such as after-school programs, mentoring initiatives, and other educational projects aimed at reducing disadvantage. The program explores the individual and societal benefits of equitable education and disadvantage-compensating initiatives, provides relevant knowledge of active citizenship, and reviews available opportunities for engagement.

Participants also learn about the mechanisms of educational segregation and the goals and characteristics of various programs designed to address disadvantage.
